Police officers were knocked down this morning by a driver who reversed into them with a car believed to be stolen.
A pair of policemen were speaking with the driver in his BMW at around 1:10am today (July 31) in Dalgarno Gardens, Ladbroke Grove, when the man suddenly reversed at speed, hitting the officers.
They suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
The driver then crashed into five parked cars, seriously damaging the black BMW Z4 he was driving and ripping the passenger door off.
The suspect is black, aged in his early 20s and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie.
Chief Superintendent Ellie O'Connor, Kensington and Chelsea's new police chief, said: "Thankfully, although shaken, neither officer was seriously injured. This incident illustrates the danger officers can face while performing what are seemingly routine inquiries.
"I would urge anyone with information about the driver, or who has seen the car, to contact police."
The supposed car theft comes less than week after the police chief told getwestlondon high-value motor vehicle theft 'is bad in Kensington and Chelsea and needs to be stopped'.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
