THIS IS the moment when police wrestled a suspect to the ground in Lyric Square, Hammersmith in front of surprised shoppers.

Officers pounced man, who was acting suspiciously for several minutes at the food market last Thursday (September 12) at about noon.

The suspect, 31, was wrestled to the ground by four officers, handcuffed and then searched before being arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

A spokesman for the police said: “The man arrested is 31-years-old and was in possession of a mobile phone that was reported lost or stolen, he was arrested for handling stolen goods and has been bailed to return on Wednesday, October 9.”
