POLICE are warning residents about a female con artist who asks people for money after lying about an ill family member.
Over the last few months the woman has been knocking on people's doors in Hounslow, Isleworth, Brentford, Chiswick and Ealing.
She is in distress and claims to have a member of her family in hospital and needs money to get a taxi there.
The woman is described as Asian, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 6ins tall, between 30 and 35-years-old with black or dark brown hair in a bun or ponytail and wearing pyjama style trousers.
DC Mike Richardson, of the Chiswick Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Hounslow Borough residents are advised not to hand over any money to persons they do not know who either approaches them on the street or knocks at their home addresses."
