POLICE are warning residents about a postal scam which could leave you s315 out of pocket.
In the lead up to Christmas, officers from the safer neighbourhood teams have contacted residents to warn them of a card being posted through their doors claiming to be a delivery company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service).
It has been reported that a note is left claiming the company was unable to deliver a package and asking you to ring them on 0906 6611911 at a premium rate.
Do not call this number.
Royal Mail and Trading Standards have confirmed that this is a scam originating from Belize. Anybody who calls the number and hears the recorded message will be charged s315 on their phone bill.
If you receive a card with these details please contact the Royal Mail Fraud hotline on 020 7239 6655 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
