POLICE are trying to find the owner of a mountain bike worth more than £2,000 which has been seized in Feltham.

Hounslow officers are searching for the person who owns the white Scott 'Plasma' bike, which they believe may have been stolen in the past 18 months.

The property was found in a recent search on a property in the Feltham area.

A police spokesman said: "These bikes are generally priced in excess of £2,000 and it is more than likely that the bike has been stolen at some point. I have checked various police systems and with Scott, the company itself, but I have been unable to establish if and when it was stolen".

If anyone recognises the bike and believes it may belong to them, or has any details which may assist tracing the owner, they can contact DC Matt McGreig in the crime squad office on 0208 247 5940.

Police have a frame number to check the genuine ownership of the bike should anyone come forward.

A man has been arrested in connection with the matter and is on bail until January 21 2011.
