EARLY indications are that revellers in Hillingdon celebrated a crime-free Halloween.

An increased police presence across the borough seemed to have the desired effect, with Hillingdon Police reporting no major incidents.

They also indicated that the number of calls about trouble-makers was significantly down on last year, and cited the publicity about the Halloween crackdown as a major reason.

Officers also reported that the majority of children they did see trick or treating were accompanied by adults.

Police will compile a full report into Halloween after the Bonfire Night festivities have taken place.
