More than half a dozen suspected crooks have been remanded in custody charged with a range of crimes following dawn swoops in Feltham, Hanworth and Isleworth.

Officers from Surrey Police arrested twelve people during the raids on Tuesday.

Nine people were charged and appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court yesterday morning. Magistrates sat for an extended session because of the number of charges and complexity of some of the cases.

Eight people were remanded in custody and will appear at Guildford Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on October 10.
They include:
 - Unemployed Sean Marks, 18, from Feltham, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle and burglary.
 - Unemployed Christopher Marks, 19, from Isleworth, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle, burglary, driving without insurance, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
 - Painter and decorator Colin Smith, 36, from Feltham, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
 - Mechanic James Roche, 35, from Feltham, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle.
 -  Window cleaner Ben Bentley, 24, from Hanworth, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle.
 - An unnamed 16-year-old boy from Feltham, who was charged with conspiracy to burgle, burglary, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
 - Another unnamed 16-year-old boy from Feltham, who was charged with burglary.

Tuesday's raids were part of Operation Shield, which targets criminals who live outside Surrey but commit crime in the county.

Following the dawn swoops, a third 16-year-old boy from Feltham, arrested on suspicion of burglary, a 37-year-old woman from Feltham, arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, and a 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, were bailed pending further enquiries.
