A special constable who indecently assaulted a schoolgirl and misused the police computer system is to be sentenced next month.

Kevin McLean, of Vincent Road, Acton, admitted assaulting a girl under the age of 16 on four occasions between January 2001 and January 2003 and is now facing jail.

The 29-year-old, who was based at Heathrow Airport, also hoarded up to 1,500 indecent images of children, some showing young girls he befriended in erotic poses.

Now a bus driver for National Express, McLean confessed to fondling the girl at Hillingdon Civic Centre, Uxbridge, and in the recess of St Paul's church in Cramner Avenue, Ealing.

McLean also used the Met's 'CRIMINT' computer system to get hold of confidential information,

between January 2005 and August 2007.

Now living with his mother, he was charged after an investigation by the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards Anti-Corruption Team and suspended from his role as a special constable.

McLean admitted one count of misconduct in a public office by using the Met's intelligence database to access information for 'improper use,' 10 counts of making indecent photographs of children and four counts of indecent assault.

A further count of sexual activity with a child was left on his file.

Judge Geoffrey Rivlin QC adjourned the sentence at Southwark Crown Court until April 27 while McLean is assessed by a psychiatrist.
