POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after naming the 29-year-old man murdered in Sulgrave Road last week.

Piotr Maculewicz was found dead in a forecourt behind Sulgrave Gardens flats by police responding to reports of a street fight at 7.15pm last Friday (11/3).

The Polish national was pronounced dead at the scene but a post-mortem at Fulham Mortuary on Sunday (13/3) proved inconclusive so further test results are needed to determine a cause of death.

Officers will be at the scene tonight (18/3) to speak to residents and hand out leaflets appealing for information.

DCI Howard Groves, of the Met Police Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: "We have established that prior to being found, Mr Maculewicz was in a lock-up off the forecourt area of Sulgrave Gardens and there may have been a fight.

"There would have been people coming and going at the time of the incident. The area is overlooked by a number of flats and I am sure there are people who may have witnessed what happened and I am encouraging those people to contact the incident room."

Two men, aged 31 and 27, were arrested and released on bail until May.

Anyone with information should call police on 020 8247 7821 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
