POLICE have finally confirmed the identity of an elderly woman who died following a road traffic collision last month.

Phyliss Tamkai, 85, from Greenford was involved in the incident in Greenford Road, Southall, on Wednesday September 7 at about 6.50am.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a white Volkswagen Crafter - a hospital patient transport

vehicle. The collision occurred near the junction with Green Park Way.

London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and took the 85-year-old woman - a passenger in the hospital transport vehicle - to a

west London hospital. She died there on Wednesday, September 21.

A post mortem examination was carried out at Hammersmith Mortuary but police said cause of death has yet to be established and more tests are taking place.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it, is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 0208 998 5319.
