Three teenagers have been arrested in the north of the country in connection with the death of Paul Thrower in Hayes, police have confirmed.

Hillingdon Borough Commander Steve Kershaw confirmed that officers arrested two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old on suspicion of murder.

The arrests were made on Tuesday and the suspects were returned to London for questioning.

So far there have been now charges over the death of the 46-year-old handyman, but police expect developments today following questioning.

Detective Superintendent Kershaw said: "A number of people have been arrested in the north of the county and they are being brought back to London to be processed and interviewed. No charges have been made and we cannot release names."

Paul Thrower, a father of two, was fatally stabbed outside his flat in St Dunstans Close, Hayes, on Thursday February 20. It is believed he got into an altercation with his killers. A 16-year-old boy was later arrested but released with no charge and bailed until a date in April.

On Tuesday night police organised a meeting to explain to the community in Hayes what they are doing to make the area safer and listen to concerns about crime. Det Supt Kershaw said his officers are working very hard to bring justice to Paul's family.
