Police taught youngsters about road safety during a visit to a Polish Saturday school in Hounslow.

Officers and police cadets dropped in to ProPOLONIA at Kingsley Academy on Saturday (March 14), to advise students how to stay safe on the borough's streets.

ProPOLONOIA was opened last September by two Polish mothers to help their children and others in the area learn more about the culture and language of the eastern European country.

It is based at Kingsley Academy, in Prince Regent Road, Hounslow, and has just under 40 students aged between three and nine.

Co-founder Agnieszka Chojnacka said: "We're very grateful to the police for visiting and passing on important safety advice to the children here."

The borough of Hounslow is home to more than 10,000 Polish speakers, according to the 2011 Census.

Police in Hounslow and Ealing recently launched a pilot Polish language Twitter account.
