Transport police have been contacted by the next of kin of a man who was fatally injured by a train at Ealing Broadway station.

Ian McClen, 46, of Villiers Road, Southall, pronounced dead at the scene on May 8 by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The incident was reported to police at 8pm that night and is not being treated as suspicious.

An appeal by police to trace Mr McClen's sister has been successful.

Terry Hancocks, BTP Fatalities Investigator, said: “In the weeks since Mr McClen’s death, we have done a lot of work to identify him and his background as we compile our report on his death for the coroner.

“Mr McClen was born in Sheffield and lived in Newcastle for many years before attending both Newcastle University and Sunderland University in the 1980s and 1990s. He later moved to London for work and lived in Ealing and Southall. Both his parents have passed away."

The inquest into Mr McClen’s death will take place later this year.
