I write with reference to the article about 'dog-on-dog attacks'.

I was very sorry to read about Sonny and Decky and their owner, Mr Habicht. I hope they will get over their attack but I fear they will bear, at the very least, psychological scars.

My own dog was attacked recently by a neighbour's dog. This dog has attacked my pet before.

Although his scars have healed, he has never regained his full composure and is not as confident in his walks out now.

I think it is ridiculous that the police and other authorities do not take these attacks seriously.

The dog warden and the police were both informed in my case and they said there are no laws regarding dog attacks, if both dogs are off the lead.

I appreciate you cannot always prevent 'arguments' between dogs but when it comes to this kind of viciousness and aggression, the law needs to step in and prosecute the guilty party.

Owners should always be aware of a possibly aggressive dog and should restrain and even muzzle their dog when out in public.
