Police have closed off Uxbridge bus station after a young person - described as a teenager - was hit by a car.

Police say two people are being treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Eyewitness Paul Coleman who works in the underground car park in Bakers Road, Uxbridge, said a car leaving the car park suddenly accelerated, hitting the teenager, before speeding across the road and crashing into a building opposite.

The building, Norwich Union House, is under development and the car is said to be embedded in scaffolding which was outside it.

Police were called at around 3.35pm today (Wednesday, November 19) to reports of a car in collision with scaffolding in the road which has a side entrance to Uxbridge Underground Station.

Officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service remain at the scene and buses are being diverted.

Transport for London said bus services that use the bus station - the 222, 331, 427, 607, A10, U1, U3, U4, U5, U7, U9 and U10 - are all diverted, with some delays.

In January, a 62-year-old woman was injured when she became trapped under a bus in Bakers Road for a number of hours.
