Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault near Poundland.

Police are investigate reports of an assault near Poundland in South Harrow.

This alleged incident happened in Northolt Road on Friday, October 3 at around 7.30pm. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was crossing the road when he stepped out behind a VW Polo that was reversing. He banged on the car to alert the driver.

Police say the driver of a passing white Vauxhall Astra shouted out that it was the victim’s fault and an alteration took place in which the victim was punched in the face.

DC Gemma Fraser from Harrow police said: "I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time that witnessed this assault. I would especially like to hear from the driver of the VW Polo as he may be able to help with our enquiries."

On Sunday, October 5, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm related to the alleged incident. He has been bailed to mid November while enquiries continue.
