A TEENAGER from Brent has helped launch a poster campaign to highlight the achievements and aspirations of the city's young people.

Marie Teresa Hanna, 15, was picked after being nominated by her school, the Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College, for being a bright, successful student and published poet.

Along with three other shining stars, Marie has shared her hopes for the future in the new Government campaign. The posters are part of a drive to inspire and encourage pupils across London.

In year eight, Marie discovered her passion for reading and writing. Her teachers have encouraged her and last year Marie had a poem published - one of her proudest achievements.

She told the Observer: "It was great to be recognised for all my hard work on this kind of scale. The posters reflect everything I do and like and what I'm doing to set myself up for the future, with the help of my school."
