A POET dropped in at a school to give children a helping hand in composing.
For 24 years, Neal Zetter has been appearing in everything from West End comedy clubs to theatres and poetry clubs developing his work. He visited Harrow High School, in Gayton Road on Friday, June 14, to share his expertise with the young poets.
Year seven children were joined by year five students from neighbouring primary schools Belmont School in Hibbert Road, Whitefriars Community School in Whitefriars Avenue, and Preston Park Primary School, College Road, Wembley, to write and perform their work alongside the seasoned poet.
Andrea Stevens, a librarian at Harrow High School who observed the workshop, said: “It was very successful and as the children were leaving they were saying what a great time they had.”
Neal uses his poetry workshops to develop literacy, confidence, self-expression, self-esteem, creativity and presentation skills.
