BUDDING movie stars from Pimlico enjoyed the first screening of their film.

Passport 2 Pimlico was made by young and older residents of the Churchill Gardens Estate, in Churchill Gardens Road, over the last year.

The film was based on the classic wartime comedy Passport to Pimlico.

Pimlico residents re-imagined the scenes from the 1949 film according to their own stories and experiences from the Second World War, and their aspirations for Pimlico.

Scenes were filmed across Pimlico, with the help of charity Groundwork and arts organisation Akarts.

Regular cast members were on hand to sign autographs at the screening, which took place at Tate Britain in Millbank, Pimlico, on Friday.

Film-maker James Johnson, director of the project, said: "It's been a joy to work with such a host of wonderful people and get them connecting with the spaces that have inherent meaning to them."
