In the tailpiece to your lead article of December 11 ('Campion Plan Fails Again') you asked "What do you think?" Well, I think that it was good news that Hounslow's Sustainable Development Committee (SDC) decided to reject the application and to do it so decisively.

Councillors took a long, hard look at the application, asked searching questions of the planning officers about the details and concluded that, despite the acknowledged improvements over the previous applications, it was not good enough.

They felt that the encroachment on Locally Designated Open Space was unacceptable, as was the housing-mix, which included insufficient family homes.

If the developer, Linden Homes, returns with a new application I hope that this time it will listen properly to the message which councillors and residents have sent to them repeatedly: no encroachment on Locally Designated Open Space and far fewer two-bedroom flats.
