Pitshanger Community Playcentre cut the cake to celebrate its 20th anniversary as a registered charity.

The centre in Pitshanger Park, Ealing, is for parents and carers of children under five, and has been running as a community project since May 1995, offering support and play activities for families with young children.

On Saturday (May 16), the charity had a big party to mark 20 years, with the Pitshanger Community Association providing funding and local entertainer Amanda's Action Club keeping the children busy.

Manager of Pitshanger Community Playcentre Marion Doheny said: "Amanda entertained the children very well and brought props, food and cake.

"The main supporters were given a bunch of flowers and we toasted the play centre with a glass of bubbly.

"About 180 people came in total with children and adults past and present.

"It was a special day to have everybody here. There was a great sense of community and support. It was thrilling and wonderful."
