At least 5,000 are thought to have attended this year's Light Up The Lane festival in Ealing's Pitshanger Lane.

The annual street party, which marks the start of Christmas, was held on December 1 and jam-packed with revellers. The event has been going for more than 15 years and is organised by the Pitshanger Community Association (PCA) in conjunction with the Pitshanger Village Traders’ Association (PVTA).

There was a ceremonial switch on of lights by the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, and the Ealing North MP Steve Pound.

The road was closed for several hours and the traders ran stores and raffles, there was a PVTA run barbeque, craft stalls and a stage where local schools and dance groups performed.

Karen Jacks, chairman of the PCA, said: “It was a brilliant event.

“We had lots of traders participating and had craft fairs and a busy stage with singing and dancing.

“It was perfect really, feedback has been very positive.”
