Reindeer were the stars of the day as hundreds of children came to Hammersmith to visit Father Christmas.

Lyric Square was packed with excited youngsters on Saturday (December 6) keen to get their photo taken alongside the big man himself along with his selection of festive animals including reindeer and a snowy owl.

Stilt walkers and Santa’s trusty elf were on hand to make sure the crowds were entertained as families waited for the chance to step inside the grotto and meet him.

Free photos were taken and sweet treats were handed out to all the good boys and girls as part of HammersmithLondon BID’s Christmas line-up.

Even the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Councillor Mercy Umeh, dropped by to give Santa her Christmas wish list and to meet the animals.

As part of the BID’s festive season, Santa and his elf will be in Lyric Square every Saturday in the run up to Christmas, so head down and have your free photo taken with him between noon and 5pm.

A free present wrapping service is also available at the Lyric Square festive cabin for any items bought in Hammersmith - just show your receipt to the elves.
