Piccadilly line running again after wind fells tree in Osterley

HEAVY winds are believed to have sent a tree crashing on to the tube tracks in Osterley, causing Piccadilly line services to be part-suspended.

PICCADILLY line services have been restored after heavy winds sent a tree crashing on to the tube tracks in Osterley, causing a part-suspension.

The tree fell just before midday, according to a spokeswoman for Transport for London (TfL), and services remained suspended between Heathrow and Northfields until just before 3pm.

Fierce winds have caused havoc across the UK today, overturning lorries and affecting power supplies.
