A dog was viciously savaged by another dog, which residents believe is behind at least two other attacks.

The King Charles spaniel suffered crushed ribs, a punctured lung and a large gash to the abdomen when it was attacked by a dog of mixed breed.

His owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was walking the dog through Closes Park in West Drayton at the time of the incident.

The 36-year-old West Drayton resident said: "There were two 13-year-olds who had been paid to walk the dog. I asked them to get their dog off mine but they weren't interested. The dog has crushed all my dog's ribs. I had to carry him home. I've seen them since still walking dogs"

Vet bills to treat the dog have so far reached £1,500 and included 17 staples being put in the animal's chest.

"He's as well as can be expected although he can't really eat at the minute," the owner explained.

The owner, a father of three, was alarmed by the reaction he got when he complained to police, the RSPCA and the dog warden.

He said: "I found out that three other dogs in the area had been attacked by the same dog. The RSPCA said they couldn't help because it wasn't a cruelty case, the police said they couldn't really do anything because it was a dog against a dog and I'm still waiting for the warden to get back to me."

Police have since began investigating the incident.

Detective Constable Andy Dawson said a report was taken on December 27 but was unaware of any related incidents.
