Children at Busy Bees in Perivale brought the Enormous Crocodile character from Roald Dahl to life on Friday (September 25) to support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.

Throughout the day - the charity’s annual Dahlicious Dress Up Day - the children dressed in green and finished making an Enormous Crocodile using boxes and decorating it using paint and collage materials.

Children also made crocodile masks to wear with their costume or green clothes.

Nursery manager Lindsey Barrett said their partnership with the Roald Dahl team had given them the opportunity to reach out to children and parents all year through their events.

“Story time is a very special part of nursery life, and staff and children enjoy bringing stories to life using props to extend the stories further and therefore encourage children’s interaction,” she said.

“Our children love dressing up so Dahlicious Dress Up Day is proving to be a popular event on the nursery calendar.

“It’s also a great way of combining learning through fun and thoroughly engaging the children as well as helping to ensure that Dahl’s tales live on through childhood and adulthood alike.”

Each year, Busy Bees nurseries (238 centres across the UK) raise thousands of pounds for charity.
