People with learning disabilities put on an adaptation of Cinderella by the Brothers Grimm.

MENCAP members at Enterprise Lodge in Stockdove Way, Perivale, took the popular story back to its roots in three scenes on December 17, their last day before Christmas.

The 12 cast members had been rehearsing since September and got a 'thunderous applause' by the 50-60 people in the audience.

The props were done by Kate Kitty and her daughter Chloe and costumes were made by Tracey Stanton.

Support worker and drama teacher Melvyn Morley said: "All the staff were brilliant, everybody worked exceedingly hard and everyone was proud.

"They are not professional but still did very well.

"There was food and drink and the show finished with an Irish jig."
