A PEDESTRIAN hit by a bus in Station Road this morning is no longer in a life-threatening condition in hospital, police confirmed.

The woman suffered head and chest injuries in a collision at 10.10am outside The 99p Shop by a 140 Metroline double-decker travelling westbound towards Harrow Bus Station, in College Road, and police officers have cordoned off Station Road and College Road.

Buses only began travelling in this direction on Saturday after the end of more than a year of road improvement works specially to allow buses to drive both ways along the street.

Although an air ambulance did land, the victim was taken by road to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London.

The incident is being investigated by officers from the Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton.
