Police are hunting the driver of an orange coloured vehicle that failed to stop after a 74-year-old man was injured in Field End Road last night (Tuesday, December 16).

It was the second incident in a few hours in the arterial road that links South Ruislip and Eastcote.

Earlier, a man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a collision close to Field End Junior School at 3.40pm, during the ‘school run hour.’

The 27-year-old was charged with driving after consuming excess alcohol, and bailed until Tuesday, January 13 at to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.

The elderly man in the later incident was treated at the scene – close to the junction with Victoria Road – for hand and knee injuries and taken by ambulance to Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, said London Ambulance Service.

Police said he was later discharged. They have no further information about the car or its driver and have appealed to the public to help.
