Popularity is growing for the new Brompton bicycle dock at Turnham Green station which opened just three days ago.
Thanks to the new cycle hire scheme from Brompton Bike hire more cyclists can get around the borough on two wheels with the iconic folding bicycle.
Brought to the borough in partnership with Hounslow council, cycling has become easier for residents, commuters and visitors who can rent out a bike for the day for as little £2.50.
Councillor Amrit Mann, deputy leader and cabinet member for environment, said: “Hounslow is one of London’s best biking boroughs, but we can and must do more to make it easier for residents to cycle.
“This is why we are backing this bicycle hire scheme - it’s typical of Brompton to come up with a simple and effective product – no wonder they are an international success story.”
Last week, MP Mary Macleod met high streets minister Brandon Lewis for a tour of Chiswick during which he was introduced to people with Brompton bikes at Turnham Green station.
Brompton Bikes are the only folding bikes that can be taken on public transport at all times of the day.
The dock is located at the Turnham Green terrace entrance to Chiswick Common.
Leave the underground station turn left, walk under the bridge, cross the zebra crossing and the dock will be right in front of you.
