A DOCUMENT containing patient details has been found on a street corner.

Information including names, addresses, date of birth and telephone numbers was contained in the paper, discovered last Friday evening.

The details relate to patients under the care of the Central and North West London NHS Trust, which runs the Riverside Clinic located within the Hillingdon Hospital site in Pield Heath Road, Uxbridge.

Karen Mitchell, 36, of Beechwood Avenue, Uxbridge, was horrified when she discovered the papers left on a garden wall of a nearby house.

She said: "It was a bit of a shock. It's definitely a concern especially when these documents contain so much vital information that could be used for fraud by someone else."

Mrs Mitchell and her husband, Paul, 36, were coming back from The Crown pub at around 8.30pm when they spotted a Hillingdon Street Atlas on a wall.

But the pair couldn't believe their eyes when they found the A4 sheet containing 12 names.

"My husband was saying: 'This is the sort of information we've read about in the papers'.

"I'm a patient at Hillingdon Hospital and I'm worried all my information could come out as well.

"These patients are particularly vulnerable people and there's every bit of information needed to steal their identity."

A spokeswoman for the Central and North West London NHS Trust said they took 'any concerns of this nature very seriously' and were currently investigating the claim.

Hillingdon Council's Brunel ward councillor, Brian Stead (Conservative), said: "It's worrying that these documents have been left lying around.

"There needs to be an investigation to try and find out what happened and stop it from happening again."

Mrs Mitchell, who has said she is willing to hand the documents back to the trust, said she considered writing to the patients personally to let them know what she found.

She added: "My first thought was to write to them to let them know their details had been on display, but then I didn't want to worry someone.

"I think people need to know that their private details are not necessarily safe."
