REGARDING a parking ticket I received (PCN EA49400420, which I have paid) for stopping, NOT parking, for three minutes.

I have lived in this area for 21 years and in that time have never had a parking ticket.

In 37 years since passing my driving test, I have never had a single point on my licence, or have I had any contact with the police regarding motoring offences.

I have always paid my council charges, never missing a payment, received a £50 cashback in December and was asked by Ealing council to consider spending it supporting local shops.

I can only assume this ticket was given by a recently-installed, hidden, unadvertised camera, and is only a revenue-making exercise.

This part of Horn Lane has a single yellow line, which in the opinion of myself and many other residents should not be there.

It does nothing to prevent buses lorries or other road users passing.

I also notice that cameras have appeared on Horn Lane, by Noel Rd and Gunnersbury Lane, opposite Acton Town Station, all of which have small local shops.

Are these cameras placed to help drive these local shops out of business?

I don't understand the logic where local authorities don't support local

people and don't see the chaos caused by the thousands of vehicles put on the roads by supermarkets.

Morrisons, in Horn Lane, causes more traffic problems in Horn Lane and Steyne Road by traffic getting into the store car park and articulated lorries getting in and out at the rear than stop and shop at local stores.

Incidentally, I think I didn't even get out of the vehicle when I received the PCN, which was issued almost two months later.

I would like Councillor Jason Stacy to explain why Ealing Council is targeting local residences and businesses with covert camera operations without consultation.
