Early morning shoppers were witness to a car on fire at Tesco Extra in Feltham, today (29).

The blaze started before 7am and plumes of thick black smoke rose from the vehicle which was parked at the supermarket on the High Street.

No-one was reported to be in the car and no-one has been hurt or injured.

Firefighters attended the scene and the flames were out in 10 minutes.

A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.58am to High Street, Feltham to a car alight and the incident was over by 7.09am."

Last night west London firefighters were dealing with a possible 'chemical spill' in neighbouring borough Ealing, where families were evacuated from a block of flats and a gym in West Ealing.
