A woman who was growing cannabis from her home in Harrow worth over £120,000 has pleaded guilty.

Thi Xuan Tran, 32, of Lower Road, Harrow was caught out after an officer from the Safer Transport Team smelt cannabis coming from the area, after calling for back up, officers located the house and searched the property.

On Monday, July 15 officers discovered over 120 cannabis plants worth a street value of £120,000, the property had been converted into an area solely for the purpose of cannabis cultivation. Lighting, ducting and electrical transformers had been installed.

 

Tran pleaded guilty to the cultivation of cannabis on July 16 and is awaiting sentencing at Harrow Crown Court.

Police Sergeant David McCarthy of Harrow's Safer Transport Team said: “This is a typical example of the committed front line policing that officers from Harrow Safer Transport Team and the Roads and Transport Policing command deliver.”

It was PC Nick Perry from Harrow's Safer Transport Team who sniffed out the strong smell while he was on duty.
