Opera lovers in the borough can now enjoy music on their doorstep.

The Great Barn at Manor Farm in Ruislip is playing host to touring company Opera Vera who will perform Mozart’s tragicomic opera Don Giovanni on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29.

The classically-trained singers are bringing the professional production to the borough fresh from its Covent Garden premiere.

It will be sung in Italian with English subtitles.

Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts based on the exploits of the legendary seducer Don Juan, which was written by Mozart in the late 18th century.

The council is encouraging anyone planning to come along to enjoy a picnic in the grounds of Manor Farm before the show starts at 7pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. A bar serving refreshments will open an hour before the performance begins.

The medieval building was built in the 12th century and is now owned and managed by Hillingdon Council.
