With reference to the letter Manor Parents were not told [Letters, December 3], I would like to comment on the situation at Hillingdon Manor School which has recently been taken over by Hillcrest.

The writer, who withheld their name and address, referred to a story in the Gazette the previous week headed Parents Happy with Takeover, and complained that parents had only just been told about the takeover, that on no occasion had their views been canvassed and that they had not had a meeting with Hillcrest.

I would like to point out that the headline refers to me and my hus-band, Sean, as parents of chidren with autism who co-founded HIllingdon Manor,as we are happy that Hillcrest is coming on board as the next part of the development.

Hillcrest always planned to meet parents of pupils in the school in January, when they could introduce themselves, listen to parents'concerns and share the future vision.

I hope this reassures the writer that we would definitely not wish to leave parents out of discussions on the school's future.

ANNA KENNEDY,

director of Hillingdon Manor School, Harlington Road,

Uxbridge.
