Sweet justice was dished out to shoppers as NYPD officers hit Hounslow to celebrate the opening of Dunkin' Donuts.

The New York cops arrested people every half-hour and dragged them into the store in Hounslow High Street for a free doughnut during a fun day on Tuesday (July 29).

Passersby were also treated to dance displays throughout the day, while youngsters got to meet the store's giant doughnut and coffee mascot and to get their faces painted.

The Hounslow store became just the ninth branch of the iconic US eatery in the UK when it opened earlier this month.

Its arrival in Hounslow was greeted with great fanfare on Twitter, with one woman declaring the new outlet meant her life was 'now complete'.
