Superb leadership and nurturing a strong relationship with parents and carers has helped a nursery maintain top marks at an Ofsted inspection.

Randolph Beresford Early Years Centre, in the White City Estate, is celebrating its second consecutive outstanding report, following its first in 2010.

Michael Pettavel, headteacher of the Australia Road nursery for children aged under five, said he and his staff were overjoyed at another excellent result.

“This is an excellent reward for all of our staff who have worked extremely hard,” he said.

“I need to thank them and our governors and parents for their support and encouragement.

“Most of all, we need to thank the wonderful children at our nursery who have shown themselves to be bright and attentive learners.

“They show a remarkable potential for making a substantial contribution to our community as they continue to grow and learn.”

The nursery, which was inspected in December last year, was among
the first schools to face tougher scrutiny following new guidelines introduced in November.

Inspectors noted there was a rich interaction between staff and children which help them gain confidence, communication skills and extend their learning.

The glowing report said parents and carers spoke highly of teachers and the progress their children make.
