Notting Hill Carnival: Teenager pleads guilty to assaulting police officer

A teenager has appeared in court accused of assaulting a police officer at the Notting Hill Carnival.

The 17-year-old was at Hammersmith Youth Court on Wednesday (September 2) where he admitted the GBH charges.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also pleaded guilty to threatening a person in a public place with a bladed article in Elgin Crescent.

He was remitted to appear at Wimbledon Youth Court on September 22 and remanded in custody.

The assault was one of several which saw police come under attack during the Carnival.
