STUDENTS got dressed up in their best suits and frocks to celebrate the end of their last year at school.

Year 11 pupils from Northwood School, in Potter Street, Northwood Hills, enjoyed a night of dancing at their prom, held at Brunel University in Uxbridge last Wednesday.

Karen Tomlin, assistant head of Year 11 who organised the annual event, said: "Each year is a special year for our Year 11’s, celebrating either leaving school or staying in further education, but this year was even more special than normal.

"The head of Year 11, Sue Callaghan, who has worked at Northwood School for many Years, is retiring and this was her last prom."

It is also the school's 75th anniversary this year and former pupils and teachers will be holding a fête at the school on Saturday.
