A GLOWING Ofsted report was received by a Northolt school.

Gifford Primary on Greenhill Gardens, Northolt, was rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas of its work just before the half term holiday.

The school with 780 pupils has gone from the ‘Notice to Improve’ classification three and a half years ago to now claiming top grades.

This is the result of a great deal of hard work by pupils, staff, governors, parents and the local authority.

The report which covers the achievement of students, behaviour and safety, teaching and leadership and management said: “Pupils are keen to learn and are unreservedly polite and caring of one another. Their behaviour in lessons and around the school is exemplary.

“School leaders have extremely high standards which have risen rapidly with outstanding progress in English and Maths.”

Philip Young, Chair of Governors, said well done to everyone involved and that it has been a great team effort.

Nigel Cook, Headteacher, added: “We are delighted that we have been graded as outstanding. It’s a marvellous achievement for which we are all very proud.”
