A NORTHOLT driver has lost his fight to appeal a speeding ticket along the congested Church Road after the speed limit was reduced last year from 40mph to 30mph.
Antonio D'Ettore, 54, of Kingsmead Drive, Northolt was caught by a speed gun last April, and said more should be done to alert motorists of the new change.
He appealed the charge at Kingston Crown Court on Friday last week. While the judge did not overturn the ticket, she reduced his commbined fine and court costs from £615 to £475.
Transport for London, which manages the dual carriageway between the Whitehart and Target roundabouts, said the highway code said reminder signs can not be installed along 30mph roads as lampposts in residential areas signal the low limit.
