Motorists are being urged to avoid Kensington Road in Northolt after a road traffic collision on Wednesday (September 13) afternoon.

The incident has led to the temporary closure of Kensington Road and the Southall slip from the target roundabout.

A spokesman from Met Police said: "Please expect delays and avoid [the] area where possible."

A photo from an eye witness shows a car has overturned on the road.

Drivers have been warned to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Roads remain closed

For those who missed it, officers have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after their unmarked police car flipped over earlier this afternoon.

Currently, Kensington Road and the Southall slip on the target roundabout remain closed.

Officers taken to hospital

A spokesman from London Ambulance Service (LAS) said the two officers involved have been taken to hospital

[LAS] were called today at 1.58pm to Kensington Road, Northolt to reports of a road traffic collision.

We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.

We treated two men at the scene for shoulder injuries and took them to hospital.”

A spokesman for the Brigade said they were called at 2.02pm to reports of the collision.

Firefighters left the scene at 2.13pm.

Dolphin Road junction

According to London Fire Brigade, the collision took place at the junction of Dolphin Road.

Ambulance service in attendance

London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service are on scene and Kensington Road remains closed at both ends.

This is to allow Roads and Transport Policing Command to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.

Met Police statement

A spokesman from Met Police said no police officers are seriously injured.

At 13:52 hours an unmarked police vehicle was involved in an authorised pursuit as it travelled along Kensington Road, Northolt.

During which the unmarked vehicle has collided with street furniture and ended up on its roof.

There were no other vehicles involved and no members of the public were injured.

Both officers have minor injuries but exited the vehicle immediately unaided.
