EALING Council is to go ahead with fencing off a huge area of Elthorne Park land to make way for football pitches.

The landscape department were denying any development plans up

until Monday, April 6, when four posters were put up, covering only two of the numerous entrances to the park.

The council seems to believe that they do not need to consult with the public, or even inform. The number of posters put up were clearly inadequate.

Elthorne councillors Amit Kapoor and Jonathan Oxley have failed to make any response.

Julia Clements-Elliott has advised that Elthorne ward forum will be holding a meeting at Elthorne Park High School on Monday at 7pm.

But with work possibly starting as soon as that date, it seems a little late. Once this area is fenced off, who is to say what further development will happen in the future.

If this can happen to our park, with no consultation, then no park is safe.
