Many of us are longing for some warmer weather , after all it is May .

While a heatwave is not on the cards this month, we can look forward to some drier weather over the next few days at least .

From Tuesday (May 2) we can expect mild and cloudy conditions with some possible patchy rain in the south east, according to the Met Office.

May 6-15

The outlook for next week will be wet but warm.

It will begin with some showers or longer spells of rain at times and it will continue to be fairly breezy.

By the end of the period it could gradually turn more unsettled.

May 16-30

As we head into the middle of May, it is more likely that drier than average conditions will continue.

However there remains the possibility of some occasional wetter interludes, especially at the start of the period, mainly in the south.

Temperatures are likely to become warmer with the chance that they could become very warm at times, particularly later in the month.
