An investigation into the deaths of two young women who were crushed on a staircase in a night club during a stampede has ended.

Nabila Nanfuka, a 22-year-old student from, Neasden in west London died at Northampton General Hospital on Wednesday, October 19 in 2011 after there was a crush on a staircase in the Wickedest Wickedest club night at Lava & Ignite nightclub.

Northamptonshire Police and Northampton Borough Council have now confirmed that, following a lengthy investigation in to the deaths of two young women at Lava & Ignite Nightclub in Northampton in October 2011, no criminal charges are to be brought against anyone involved in this tragic incident.

Nabila was studying leisure and tourism at the University of Northampton. This case has now been passed to HM Coroner who will set an inquest date in due course.

Northampton Borough Council will now consider Health and Safety at Work Act offences.

The incident happened during the Wickedest Wickedest club night at Lava & Ignite nightclub, on Tuesday, October 18 in 2011 and, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 19, there was a crush on the staircase. 

Laurene-Danielle Jackson, a 19-year-old student from Shepherd's Bush also died at Leicester Glenfield Hospital on Sunday, November 6 in the same year, she was studying psychology and criminology at Kingston University London.

In November 2011 The Independent Police Complaints Commission begun an investigation into the way Northamptionshire Police handled the club crush disaster, which resulted in the two deaths.
