InYourArea.co.uk has just launched the first geographical map view of real time news as it unfolds across the UK .

News is aggregated from every regional and national news website and blog in the UK. InYourArea detects when any city, town, hamlet or village is mentioned in a news article and instantly plots it on the map.

When zoomed out, the map groups stories in clusters and provides a heat-map like view for each cluster, instantly providing a clear view on which areas have the most activity. As you zoom in, these clusters breakdown further, eventually resulting in a hyper local view of which specific locations have been mentioned and the stories they relate to. InYourArea.co.uk is a new local social news and information service that aggregates all the latest news and information for your local area. Simply enter your postcode, select your areas of interest and a personalised feed is instantly loaded.

The site officially launched this March with some additional features coming soon that will allow people to post their own updates to the feed and discuss the news within their community. Find out more at https://www.inyourarea.co.uk

Head of Product for InYourArea Darren Sher said: "We wanted to create the ability for people to see a real-time and trusted view of what's happening in their immediate area, no matter how small their community.

"The map shows just how vibrant the UK's media is and just how much of the country is being covered at any one time.

"The map also allows you to see when real hotspots of news occur, where there's lots of publications publishing about a specific location.

"The map is just a taste of what InYourArea offers, things really come to life when you enter your postcode and select your locations of interest. I hope people enjoy exploring the news where they live or work."
