Rugby world champions the New Zealand All Blacks spent a week training at Burlington Danes Academy.

The rugby legends used the school’s all-weather sports pitch in Wood Lane, Shepherd’s Bush, for secret training sessions ahead of their 30-22 victory over England on Saturday.

They are currently touring Europe for the autumn international series.

School principal Dame Sally Coates said: “It was a privilege to host what’s arguably the best team in history. The fact that they chose to train at Burlington Danes shows just how lucky our students are to enjoy such excellent facilities.”

As a gesture of thanks, the 2011 World Cup winners presented the school with a signed jersey and ball and posed for pictures with the school’s year 8 rugby squad.
