Brentford Market recorded a record turnout for January at the weekend as it made a strong start to 2015.

The number of visitors was 56 per cent up on the same weekend last year, the market's development manager Neil Vanstone said this week.

The market, outside the old court house in Brentford High Street, now has between 18 and 22 stalls every week and runs from 10am to 2pm.

As well as the usual favourites, there are now regularly changing street food stalls meaning there's always something different for shoppers to try.

"Things are really buoyant. We're delighted with the turnout at the weekend. I want to tank the local community for continuing to support the market through some difficult times."
