A weekly club for older people looking to make new friends is being launched this month.

Senior citizens can get picked up from their homes and taken to Hounslow Multicultural Centre, in Hounslow, where they can meet new people, enjoy a hot lunch and play cards or enjoy other activities before being dropped back home.

There are eight spaces for people to attend the sessions at the centre in Derby Road, Hounslow, every Tuesday, from midday to about 2pm. The club is due to begin on February 25 and registration is now open.

The charity is also starting home food delivery for vulnerable elderly residents in the borough from April 1.

Meals will be delivered during lunch hours every week day excluding Thursdays to those who are living alone and are unable to cook for themselves.

To express an interest in either of the new services, call the charity between 10.30am and 3pm on 020 8577 2702 or 020 8577 1640.
